Galloway Physician Makes a Difference for Patients Throughout Their Journey

Dr, Michael Sperling has been a medical director with Angelic Health Hospice since the company started in 2015.

 From a young age Michael Sperling wanted to be a physician. Fascinated by science, he knew that any career path would take him to a science-related field.  After completing his medical education at Ross University and internal medicine residency at Staten Island University Hospital, the Galloway, New Jersey native established his primary care practice Sperling Medical Associates in his hometown. In addition to his practice, he became the medical director of Angelic Hospice in 2015, the same year that Angelic became certified as a hospice provider.

As a hospice medical director is responsible for the overall care delivered by this interdisciplinary team, which includes nurses, home health aides, social workers, spiritual care coordinators, volunteers and bereavement counselors. He certifies hospice eligibility, ensures compliance with regulations, standards and policies, and oversees the medical care of hospice patients, including their medications, treatments, and plan of care.

“Hospice care is a vital service that allows patients to spend their final days with dignity, comfort, and as little pain and suffering as possible.
