Hospice Experience Inspired Social Worker's Career Choice

She was 23 years old when Jamie Reichelt lost her mother to stage four lung cancer. It was her first experience with hospice care, and it was then that she decided on a career path to help others as a Social Worker.
“I just knew I wanted to do what my social worker did, “she recalled of her experience with hospice 16 years ago. “They were so helpful, compassionate, and problem solvers. I reflect on the grace and dignity my mom was given from her hospice team and proud to now be on the other side and provide care to others, as I know exactly what they are going through. I knew I wanted to help others at the most vulnerable times of their lives.”
A 2016 graduate of Stockton University with a master’s degree in social work, the Galloway wife and mother of a 5-year-old son has worked in hospice care at Angelic Health since 2023 after working in the mental health services.
“There's something to be said about caring for someone at the end of life, “she explains adding that her connection with patients and families and helping them at a time when they are most vulnerable inspires her.
The Gallway, NJ resident enjoys concerts, camping, and going to the beach with her family. A giver even during her time off work, she is passionate about supporting non-profit organizations in her community.
