“We can never give away to others what we don’t own ourselves,” says Angelic Health Spiritual Care Counselor Chris Gregas, a prolific book author and expert on grief. “If we don’t take care of ourselves, then we will be no real help to others.”
In this episode of Connections with Angelic Health, Gregas discusses making yourself a priority in caring for a loved one and in grieving, with host Margie Barham. Gregas equates this practice to that of the pre-flight safety instructions which advise that in the event of an emergency to put on your own mask before helping others. Although this may sound selfish, it is in fact much the opposite. Because in this instance if you lose consciousness, you won’t be able to help anyone. The same hold true when dealing with the stress and grief associated with caring for others.
Connections with Angelic Health is hosted by Angelic Health's Director of Public Relations Margie Barham. Our guests include Angelic Health expert staff as well as interviews with our community care partners.
